He left the band in 1997. After that, he founded the American rock band New Found Glory with his three friends in 1998.

As a member of New Found Glory, he plays lead guitar, composes music, and provides backing vocals. Previously, Chad was a lead vocalist for New Found Glory’s now-defunct side-project, International Superheroes of Hardcore.

With the band, he released two albums titled Takin’ it Ova! and HPxHC (EP), both in 2008.

Gilbert and the band New Found Glory released their first album titled Nothing Gold Can Stay in 1999. They have released nine albums till now. Their album Catalyst (2004) became very popular in the mid-2000s.

They recently released their album titled Makes Me Sick 2017. Chad has also released several demos under the name What’s Eating Gilbert. As a record producer, Chad has produced many albums for several bands.

In 2008, he produced Nothing to Prove for the band H2O. He has also produced many other songs and albums such as All I Have to Offer Is My Confusion (2009), What Separates Me from You (2010), and Use Your Voice (2015).
