Delight at Golden Retriever and Corgi's Very Different Reactions to Snow

Cold weather is not for everyone, and the same goes for dogs. A pet owner has left the internet in stitches after sharing the main difference between their two dogs in the winter.

In a viral clip shared on Instagram on Saturday, under the username maui_thegoldenpup, the poster's golden retriever can be seen hanging out in the yard as the snow covers his fur, enjoying every moment of it.

On the other hand, their corgi can be seen having the complete opposite reaction, lying warm indoors all wrapped up in a warm blanket.

The hilarious clip comes with a caption that says: "My golden retriever when it's 0 degrees outside vs my corgi." Followed by: "Polar bear in his natural habitat while short legs can't cope."

Not all dogs love cold and snow, some would rather stay indoors and watch it from the window, but why? How resistant to cold temperatures your dog is depends on a number of factors, including their breed, age, size, fur length, and even color.

You can walk your dog in the cold, as long as you wrap them up warm before leaving the house, U.K.-based Avenues Vet Centre says.

A common option among pet owners is to invest in dog jackets and socks, or boots, to form a barrier between them and the freezing temperatures outside. However, walks should be kept to a minimum, it is also advised to limit walk times to 15-20 minutes, to minimize exposure to the cold.

"Even though some dogs are more tolerant of cold weather, you should not leave them outside for long periods of time with no warm retreat," the website added.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across Instagram. It has so far received over 696,087 likes on the platform.

One user, teresabeshara, commented: "My dog likes the cold weather too. However, he expects me to go outside with him. I let him out and he sits at the door waiting for me."

Cindy.reid.796 said: "I know, my Golden doesn't want to come in when it's Freezing! He lives it out there." And riand_gerard added: "We have to go home sweetie."
