How to Skip First Day of School in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players are playing hooky when it comes to attending their respective Naranja and Uva Academies. A newly-discovered exploit is helping impatient players skip past the lengthy setup that begins after you choose your starter Pokemon.

That cuts out a long, bloated segment that doesn't teach veteran players much, and forces them to sit through up to an hour or longer of conversation and simple Pokemon battles that should really have been made optional.

While it can be helpful to go through the "orientation", so to speak, this beginning area of the game isn't as fun the second or third time around for players jumping into the other game (from Scarlet to Violet or vice versa) or starting over to try a different Pokemon. Luckily, a Redditor has found a way to skip past all of that thanks to a glitch, so you can get to the good stuff much faster.

If you're looking to skip the first day of school in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to get on your way to becoming a master trainer, we've got your back. Read on to see how you can skip the entirety of the beginning segment in both games.

How to Skip the First Day of School in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

If you want to skip all the school-related shenanigans in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you'll first need to get your Starter Pokemon. According to Redditor GalaxyHunter17, that's when you can start veering off the beaten path. Instead of heading to Los Platos and going through the gates that lead to Mesagoza, head southwest instead.

While moving in this direction, stay as close to the cliff face as you can, then look at your map to ensure you're moving toward South Area 4. Once you're near there, find a Pokemon and start a battle. You'll instantly be transported to Area 4, which will open up the rest of the game to you.

But be advised that this will still gate off parts of the game for you that you won't want to miss out on. You won't be able to participate in the Starfall Street or Victory Road questlines if you don't attend school, and you won't be able to meet Arven to kick off the Path of Legends quests, either.

But you will be able to see what's out there to go ahead and start capturing Pokemon and exploring without having to sit through the whole school-centric rigmarole first. And that may very well be worth it to many of you if school sounds like a drag. This glitch will remain available unless there's an update pushed to fix it, so use it while you can.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
