The body of a 13-year-old girl was pulled from New York City's East River - hours after she called 911 and threatened to jump.
Jade Smith was reported missing at 11pm on Sunday by her mother, Suyapa Martinez, 30. Her body was found in the water near Brooklyn Bridge Park around 8am on Monday morning, and she was declared dead at the scene.
DailyMail.com understands that the Brooklyn schoolgirl called 911 from her cellphone at 9.34pm on Sunday, stating, 'I'm going to jump' before the call was disconnected. It's unclear where she threatened to jump from.
Family members had told police that the teenager had a history of bipolar disorder and depression.

As well as calling 911, Jade also sent her father a 'sorrowful message' at some point that evening, according to the NYPD.

The 13-year-old's death comes just a few days after another NYC teen jumped from the roof of her nine-story apartment building in the Upper East Side.
The 17 year-old girl was pronounced dead soon after jumping at approximately 12.54pm on Sunday.
Her mother and sister were both home at the time of the tragic incident, and heard a 'loud thud' from outside, a law enforcement official told Dailymail.com.
The teenager, who hasn't been identified by authorities, is the daughter of an investment banker with JP Morgan Chase.
