Well, it’s about time. At 73-years-old, Tina Turner has landed her very first Vogue cover. And that’s not all: A spokesperson for Conde Nast Germany confirmed that Turner is the oldest person ever to grace the cover of Vogue in the magazine’s 120+ year history (followed by 62-year-old Meryl Streep’s January 2012 cover.)

The legendary singer covers VogueGermany‘s April issue, lensed by Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer and styled by Nicola Knels.
It’s kind of a surprising choice for VogueGermany, which generally prefers young starlets and models-of-the-moment for its cover features–but it’s a welcome one.
