Who was Andrew Lloyd Webber's son Nicholas?

ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER announced the death of his son Nicholas in March 2023, sharing the sad news with his followers on Twitter.

Andrew is known for being the mastermind behind shows like Cats and Evita and his musical talents were clearly passed down to Nicholas, who enjoyed a hugely successful career himself before his tragic passing.

Who was Andrew Lloyd Webber's son Nicholas?

Nicholas "Nick" Lloyd Webber, born on July 2, 1979, was the son of Andrew and his first wife Sarah Hugill.

He is the younger brother of Imogen Lloyd Webber and older half-sibling to brothers Alastair and William, and sister Isabella, who Andrew welcomed with this third wife Madeleine Gurdon.

Nick was a Grammy-nominated composer and record producer, perhaps best known for scoring BBC One drama Love, Lies And Records, and the 2021 film The Last Bus.

He co-produced and mixed the 2021 original London cast album Cinderella (the previous name of Bad Cinderella), which landed him his Grammy nom, and also wrote the music for Fat Friends The Musical, based on Kay Mellor's ITV series.

Nick had been battling the disease for 18 months, Andrew revealed shortly before his death.

In an April 2023 essay for New York Times, Andrew dedicated the final Broadway show of his musical Phantom of the Opera to his late son.

The show, which was the longest-running on Broadway, ended less than a month after Nick died.

In his piece, Andrew said:  "Nothing's worse for a parent than the death of a child. In my bones I feel it wrong to write about the closing of Phantom or where Broadway's going right now, but I'll try."

Was Nicholas Webber married?

Nicholas married viola player Polly Wiltshire in June 2018.

The couple kept their relationship out of the public eye, so little is known about their romance.
